Heart of the Arts, Inc. (HAI) is only able to complete the renovations of the 1912 Center with the support of our community. Because HAI is a 501 (c) (3) organization, your donation is tax deductible. Your gift will go directly to the completion of facility renovations and will not be used for operations. HAI completed a successful fundraising campaign for the West Wing project in 2008. This renovation added the Arts Workshop, the Fiske Family Community Meeting Room and a dressing room/restroom to the 1912 Center.

In 2010, HAI continued the renovations of the shell of the 1912 Center. The west and north sides of the facility were completed in the fall, with 53 new windows, tuckpointing, cornice painting and repairs to the brick and terracotta. In 2012, the site work to add a retaining wall and sidewalk along Second Street and the remaining parking lot on the west end of the facility was completed. In 2013, lighting and landscaping were added to the property. In 2014, the east end of the facility received new windows and tuckpointing and cornice and balustrade repairs. The south side of the facility had needed repairs done and new windows installed in 2016 and with the roof replacement during the summer of 2018 the exterior renovations were completed. In 2021 four of the six room on the second floor were opened to the public after a year and a half of renovations during the pandemic.

Your support made all of this possible over the past fifteen years. We are currently renovating the western two rooms on second floor of the 1912 Center with the hallway, bathrooms and four of the six rooms already complete. If you would like to be a part of this exciting project please make a gift of support in any amount online today!

Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of any organization and Heart of the Arts, Inc. is no exception. We receive countless hours of volunteer help every month from our seniors, who help look after the building. We are extremely grateful for their dedication, time and fantastic support. In addition, we have a number of community volunteers who do everything from weeding the flowerbeds in the summer to organizing the PCEI Plate Project to detail cleaning of tables and chairs in the Great Room. The 1912 Center sparkles because of their help.

Volunteers have:
Hung art in the halls of the 1912 Center
Deep cleaned the building
Shoveled snow
Weeded flowerbeds
Driven the weekly recycling to the recycling center
Picked up trash around the outside of the building
Helped with the set up and take down of HAI events
Played music for special events
Toured people through the building
Driven seniors to events at the building

We are certain that there is a job for you at the 1912 Center too. If you would like to join the 1912 Center volunteer team, please send an e-mail to
1912Center@gmail.com and we will keep you posted as new volunteer opportunities arise. Thank you for your wonderful support of the 1912 Center and Heart of the Arts, Inc.
